Holmes held its district wide National Adult Education Honor Society Induction Ceremony. The society inducted 20 plus students.
Friend and family of the students were welcomed by Chelia Thompson the Holmes College and Career Navigator. The invocation was given by Daphne Higgins, Adult Education Lead Instructor at Holmes. Earline Russell-Smith, Director of Adult Education at Holmes gave a brief history of the program.
The Pinning and Awarding of certificates was completed by Sabina Moore, Instructor for the Attala Center, Marlena Simon, Instructor of the Ridgeland Day program and Daphne Higgins, Instructor of Yazoo City Teen Center. The Mississippi Community College Board, Office of Adult Education representative Bronwyn Robertson, gave a few words of encouragement and acknowledged the honor society members followed by closing remarks by Director of Adult Education, Earline Russell-Smith.
The 2026 Holmes National Adult Education Honor Society class included: Garrett Bell, Gailyn Borwn, Kimberly Cavett-Jackson, Elizabeth Cochran, Evan Coulter, Samuel Davis, Emily Evans, Antionette Garner, Mallorie Harrell, Ethan Hunt, Braxton Latiker, O’Shay Latiker, Maggie Ellington-Massey, Cierra McGee, Edgar Morales, Karanessa Reed, Kayriuana Rose, Latoria Rushing, Bria Shoulders, Shelby Smith, Kenneth Stamps II, Anthony White-Porchia, Mason York and Marquavious Young.
