Water Valley School District Announces Jaylan Bledsoe as Head Baseball Coach
The Water Valley School District is proud to announce the hiring of Jaylan Bledsoe as the new Head Baseball Coach for Water Valley High School.
Coach Bledsoe brings an impressive background as both a player and coach to the Blue Devil baseball program. A three-sport standout at Grenada High School, Bledsoe excelled in football, basketball, and baseball before continuing his athletic career at the collegiate level.
Bledsoe played for Kenny Dupont at fifth-ranked Holmes Community College, where he became a two-time MACJC First Team All-State selection during his freshman and sophomore seasons. He later completed his playing career at Jackson State University, earning recognition on the Preseason Players to Watch list, All-SWAC honors, and SWAC Tournament recognition.
His coaching experience spans multiple levels of baseball and includes stops at Grenada High School as an assistant coach, Mississippi Delta Community College as an assistant coach, and Mississippi Valley State University, where he served as assistant coach, recruiting coordinator, and interim head coach. For the past two years, Bledsoe has served as the head coach at Claflin University in South Carolina, where he recently led the program to a CIAA Tournament Championship. He has also coached with the respected East Coast Sox organization.
Coach Bledsoe is the father of three children: Azia, Alijah, and Jayce.
