Exciting news! Dr. Justin Snyder has been selected as one of 40 emerging leaders nationwide for the Rising Presidents Fellowship with the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program.

Over the next 10 months, Justin will collaborate with innovative peers, learn from national experts, and develop bold strategies to lead colleges that help students succeed. We’re thrilled to support them on this journey!

We were honored to welcome US Senator Thom Tillis to Alamance Community College’s Public Safety Training Center!

During his visit, Senator Tillis toured the facility and spoke with our BLET cadets about their future in public service. He learned more about how ACC is helping train the next generation of first responders who will serve communities across North Carolina.

We were honored to recognize the late Mrs. Colleen Woods Ross Martin with the Distinguished Alumni Award for her life of service and impact on our community. Her son, Representative Stephen Ross, accepted the award on her behalf.

Today at Community College Day, ACC students had the opportunity to share their stories directly with state leaders and advocates from across North Carolina, showcasing the life-changing impact of community colleges and the power of investing in students.

We were especially proud to feature our “Otter Cup Training Grounds,” operated by our ABLE students, at the Halifax Mall exhibit. From serving coffee and donut holes to engaging with visitors from across the state, our students represented the heart of Alamance Community College so well.

Lt. Governor Hunt toured ACC’s Biotechnology Center of Excellence and Advanced Applied Technology Center to see firsthand how our programs are preparing students for high-demand careers in biotechnology, skilled trades, advanced manufacturing, and more. Her visit highlighted the important role community colleges play in workforce readiness, economic mobility, and student success.

ACC continues to work with business leaders, industry partners, and community stakeholders to ensure our programs meet the needs of employers and students alike.
