It’s that time of year again! 🔥 Breaking iron and gearing up for next week’s iron pour at Artoberfest on campus!

Opportunities like this make CMU’s art program special. From introductory 3D Design to advanced sculpture, students get to participate in the extraordinary process of casting molten iron—learning through hands-on making, collaboration, and experimentation. It’s an unforgettable experience that connects students across all levels and brings our creative community together.

Come celebrate with us and watch their ideas take shape in cast iron!

Now on view at 437CO Art Gallery: Space Between, featuring Charles and Collin Parson!

Excited to have this father and son exhibition here in Grand Junction and to share it with our students and community. Take some time to visit the gallery, spend time with the work, and support the arts downtown.

Learning beyond the studio! Students in CMU’s sculpture program are helping install work for the new campus sculpture walk in collaboration with Grand Junction’s Art on the Corner.

Being part of the installation process gives students firsthand experience with the planning, teamwork, and care involved in bringing sculpture into public spaces—and a chance to help shape the campus we share.

Excited to see these works become part of everyday life at CMU. Come take a walk and explore!

The studios are coming to life, the kilns are getting some attention, and we’re excited for another year of making, experimenting, and creating together.

Art is bringing our community together!

Colorado Mesa University Assistant Professor of Art & Design Crystal Wagner and her fiance Logan are leading a vibrant new community mural at the Mesa Community Center, transforming a shared space into a work of art that reflects the creativity, identity, and spirit of Mesa.

This collaborative project welcomes community members to be part of the process, celebrating the power of public art to connect people and create a lasting sense of place.

If you’re in the area, stop by, say hello, and watch the mural come to life. All are welcome starting at 3pm everyday through Aug. 2nd! We can’t wait to share the finished work with you!

Big thank you to some of the FLARE students for showing up!
