Spotlight On: Recent Grad Luci Archer from West Michigan

Ferris State's Luci Archer battled leukemia, vows to use new degree to help children facing health problems. Even as a little girl battling leukemia, Luci Archer knew she wanted to be a helper. Diagnosed at the age of 6, Archer was inspired by a child life specialist at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids who helped make her cancer treatment just a little less scary. “That kindness really impacted me and inspired me to choose a career where I can give somebody else that same positive experience,” said Archer, who graduated May 6 from Ferris State University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a Child Life Specialist concentration. After our meeting today some of our Ferris West Michigan Council members went to check out past member, Paola R. Mendivil’s, newest restaurant concept, Mercadito!

We enjoyed delicious handmade tamales, flautas, pambazos, tortas, and more! When you come, do not forget to check out the dessert and West Michigan’s only restaurant serving marquesitas!

Whether you dine in or cater, you will not be disappointed!

Bulldog For Life: Richard Antonini II

The Ferris State University Alumni Association's Bulldog for Life for March is Richard Antonini II, a 1986 alumnus of the accounting program. A Partner at Plante Moran in Grand Rapids, Richard fondly remembers his time at Ferris State interning with the accounting department on campus and especially playing on the club hockey team. Richard also attributes much of his drive to lead in his personal and professional lives to his time at Ferris.
