Some alumni leave a legacy. Dr. Mark Campbell shaped one.
His faith, leadership, and devotion to the Gospel strengthened Cornerstone for decades. What a gift his life has been to this community.
Praying for his family and grateful for the example he set for all of us.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
With deep sorrow and profound gratitude, Cornerstone University mourns the homegoing of our beloved Trustee, Dr. Mark Campbell.
A 2009 graduate of Cornerstone Theological Seminary and our 2025 Alumnus of the Year, Dr. Campbell served on the Board of Trustees for nearly three decades, chairing the Mission Stewardship Committee with wisdom, humility, and unwavering devotion to Christ.
A gifted physician and founding member of the Cancer & Hematology Centers of Western Michigan, he spent his life bringing healing, hope, and dignity to thousands. Yet his greatest legacy may be the way he anchored Cornerstone in the timeless truth of the Gospel—never wavering, always pointing us back to Jesus.
“Dr. Campbell’s legacy is one of extraordinary consistency and unwavering commitment to uphold the university’s original Biblical mission,” shared President Dr. Gerson Moreno-Riaño. “He has given generously of his wisdom, his resources, and his heart for nearly 30 years—and we are better because of it.”
Today we celebrate a life well lived, a faith deeply rooted, and a servant who finished well.
Please join us in praying for the Campbell family as they grieve and remember. May the same Savior who sustained Dr. Campbell through every season now comfort them with His nearness.
“Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your master.”
Matthew 25:21
