Happy Labor Day, Golden Eagles.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23

Work is not just what fills a calendar. At Cornerstone it is part of how we love God and serve people — in the classroom, on the job, and in the quiet work no one sees.

Campus offices are closed Monday and there are no classes. Rest well. Then come back ready.

Grateful for our faculty, staff, student workers, and every Golden Eagle learning to do their work as unto the Lord.

It's been nearly 25 years since the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.

We promised ourselves as a nation that we would Never Forget, and as a college campus, we carry that commitment soberly. Cornerstone University will faithfully remember and share with students, who were not yet born, the heroic sacrifices of the first responders and brave citizens in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.

This year, on Friday, Sept. 11, join us for 9/11 Memorial Community Chapel as we remember the lives lost 25 years ago and stand with veterans, active military, and first responders. CU Distinguished President's Fellow Eric Metaxas, who was in Manhattan on 9/11, will share a brief reflection.

The night before, Thursday, Sept. 10, Eric presents a book talk and signing for his new book, Revolution: The Birth of the Greatest Nation in the History of the World, with conversation and live Q&A. Tickets are $40 and include a copy of the book.

Details and tickets in comments.

Hey CU family and friends — we’re excited to invite you to something truly special this September. On September 12, we’re partnering with Hero Services for Strikes for Stripes at DeWitt Field.

Come cheer on our Veterans and our First Responders in a friendly softball game, explore military and emergency vehicles up close, and remember the heroes we’ve lost with the powerful Memorial Walkway and Towers of the Fallen.

It’s going to be a meaningful, family-friendly evening — and best of all, it’s free for all Cornerstone students, staff, and faculty with your ID (kids 12 & under are free too)!

We’d love to see you there. Event details in comments.

Golden Eagles, the year has officially begun.

Today our campus gathered for Convocation — a tradition of calling this community together as we start the 2026-27 academic year. We prayed. We sang. And we put our eyes back on the promise that frames this year: Jesus is coming again.

President Gerson Moreno-Riaño asked the question Jesus leaves with his disciples in Luke 18: When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth? Not a slogan. A living faith that craves God, changes how we walk through class, work and friendship, and keeps us ready.
Degrees, friendships and championships matter. Being ready for Christ matters more.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
