Experience thriving Kenya 🇰🇪
We still have a few openings in the May 2027 Kenya Cross Cultural course! This course will be based in central Kenya, near Kijabe, one of the world’s largest mission centers with a history dating back over 100 years. We will examine the development of Christianity in Africa and participate in the ongoing work of Christians, both missionaries and Kenyans.
Missionaries carried the gospel to Africa as colonial powers invaded the continent in the late 1800s. Today, a thriving African church and continued missionary activity confront a society of extremes: a rising middle class alongside entrenched poverty, technological advances alongside the scourge of AIDS. We will visit churches and talk with Kenyans from a wide variety of backgrounds, from urban professionals to rural subsistence farmers, from church leaders to school children. Through readings, reflections and personal experiences, we’ll examine how African Christianity came to embrace the vibrant forms it embodies today.
