Hey everyone, Ian Morrison here. Just in case you were wondering why you were randomly selected to like this page and why it's even active again, I'll give you a little bit of history. For those of you old enough to remember him, Keane McCullum, (sorry Keane) started this page and a club focused on bicycle racing during his tenure at Messiah College. As his graduation approached and I entered into it, the club began to take a different direction and started reorienting itself into a group of people more focused on helping others maintain their equipment, and getting everyone, not just those who could afford expensive road equipment, out and enjoying bicycling in all its different facets. I'm not saying that I did the best job because of other engagements, but during my time at Messiah College, I focused on establishing an active bicycle shop on campus. Thanks to the interest and subsequent partnership of current student Tobi Nordland, the Messiah College bicycling community is now organized as a club under the Sustainability Office. Our current focus will be as broad as the sport of bicycling itself. This Thursday from 7 until 9, we will be starting up again with our portable bicycle shop on campus set up in front of the Falcon in what we hope to be every Thursday this semester from this point on. In addition to offering a place for students to learn about and work on their bicycles, we are also in the process of organizing rides and reestablishing our connections with the non profit bicycle shop Recycle Bicycle in Harrisburg, my personal shop, The Underground, that focuses on affordable reconditioned used bicycles, and the real shop of the bunch, Pedal Pusher Bicycle Shop, in Harrisburg where I work full time. If you or anyone you know has any kind of interest in bicycling, whether mountain, road, or just cruising, send them our way.
Thanks
Ian
