High school students are hard at work during our Exploring Careers in Healthcare summer camp, getting a closer look at what it’s like to be part of the nursing profession.

Students have been building hands-on skills and confidence while learning how to:
• Perform ear assessments
• Draw up liquid oral medications
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Irrigate a wound
• Take blood pressure
• Manage a Foley catheter
• Care for a post-operative patient through simulation

This immersive experience is helping students connect classroom learning with real-world patient care, while discovering if a future in nursing is right for them. We’re proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to learning—these future healthcare providers are off to a great start! 💙

🌟 Celebrating Excellence in Nursing 🌟
We are proud to announce the induction of the newest members into Sigma, the International Honor Society of Nursing. Lambda Kappa Chapter welcomed these outstanding students and nurse leaders who exemplify a commitment to scholarship, leadership, and service.
We were honored to hear from our induction speaker, Laura Bitterman, who reflected on her calling to remain at the bedside. Rooted in Sigma’s values of Love, Courage, and Honor, her message highlighted the moral and professional responsibility to care for “the least of these” through presence, compassion, and dignity in daily practice.

My name is Nora and I am a sophomore nursing student studying at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand with Veritas Worldstrides. At the university, I am took effective communication, conversational Maori, and microbiology as well as an online comparative religions class with my study abroad program.

Here I am hiking up Mt. John in Tekapo. This was one of the South Island excursions that Worldstrides offered to us. We hiked, took a dip in the hot springs, went star gazing, and hung out with friends. I have had so much fun exploring God's creation in New Zealand!
