🚨🔥 FREE FIBER OPTICS TRAINING — ENROLLMENT IS OPEN! 🔥🚨

📍 NMSU Grants Community College

🎓 Training includes:

✅ Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT)
✅ Certified Fiber Optics Outside Plant Specialist (CFOS/O)
✅ Certified Fiber Optics Specialist in Splicing (CFOS)
✅ Certified Fiber Optics Testing & Maintenance Specialist (CFOS/T)

💥 Funded through the Government Results and Opportunity Trust (GRO) Program!

Participants must attend the full 5-day training, register with NMDWS, and take the TABE (Test for Adult Basic Education) exam prior to training. We will administer certification exams at the end of each course.

✅ Eligibility Requirements
• 21+ for interstate operation, hazmat, or placarded loads
• Valid state driver’s license
• Proof of identity, Social Security Number (SSN), and state residency
• Self-certification of your category of operation (interstate/intrastate and excepted/non-excepted)

✅Medical Requirements
Applicants must:
• Pass a DOT physical conducted by an examiner listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners
• Obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Form MCSA-5876), generally valid for up to 24 months unless the examiner specifies a shorter period
• Have their medical certification status on file with the state licensing agency

📖 English Proficiency
Federal regulations require commercial drivers to be able to read and speak English sufficiently to
• Converse with the general public
• Understand highway traffic signs and signals in English
• Respond to official inquiries
• Make entries on reports and records

Hello Everyone,

The second Open Mic of the school year will be held tonight (Thursday, 10/08) from 5:30 to 7:30pm in the theater.

If you'd like to sing a song, play an instrument, recite a poem, perform a stand-up comedy bit, or simply spectate, please feel free to join us!

Open Mic Nights will be held on the second Thursday of every month of the academic school year (i.e., through May) at the same hours and location.

You have FREE, 24/7 access to virtual care services with TimelyCare — the virtual health and well-being platform from TimelyCare, designed for college students. Students do not need insurance to access TimelyCare services. As part of New Mexico State University’s partnership with TimelyCare, students have access to services in TimelyCare, including:

MedicalNow: On-demand support for common health issues, including cold, flu, and allergies.

TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand emotional support to talk about anything, including anxiety, relationships, depression, and school-related stressors.

Scheduled Medical: Choose the day, time, and medical provider that best works for you.

Scheduled Counseling: Choose the day, time, and mental health provider that works best for you. (12 visits per year)

Health Coaching: Develop healthy lifestyle behaviors, including nutrition, sleep habits, time management, and mindfulness.

Psychiatry: Appointments are available through referrals.

Self-Care Content: Visit the Self-Care tab for 24/7 access to tools and resources, such as meditation and yoga sessions, helpful videos, and short articles from experts.

Basic Needs Support: Get connected to free or reduced-cost community resources, including food and housing assistance, transit support, childcare, and finances.
