¡Hola familia!
¡Hoy es un día de celebración para Juneteenth! Today is a day of celebrating Juneteenth!
The history of Juneteenth dates back to June 19, 1865, when enslaved African-Americans in Galveston, Texas, reclaimed their freedom. Now, 155 years later, people in cities and towns across the U.S. continue to mark the occasion with celebrations. It is an important holiday to celebrate black history and freedom. Considering the nationwide and global wide protests over police brutality, injustices, and the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and many more African Americans throughout the years it is important to honor and celebrate Juneteenth.
La Fuerza Latina stands in solitary to our brothers and sisters in the Black community/ Afro Latinx to recognize the mark of freedom and Black history! Together we stand to fight the war of racial inequality.
Please take a moment and be informed on this day of celebration to highlight the freedom every Black child, woman, and man deserve.
