I like the way he describes kindness ⬇️click the link: In kind, Kindred, Kin, you are the same as me.
Begs the question:
Why aren’t we always kind? I think that we aren't kind because we forget that the person we are disregarding is "like me, human." They have all the thoughts and emotions that I have. And what I do can either hurt them or bring love.
The saying, "Do unto others as you would have them do to you" resonates when you note their humanness. Same eyes, same facial responses to experience, same inward emotional reactions.
They are your kin...your people. Literally, if what you are doing to someone else would hurt you, then don't do it.
And if you remember a moment when someone made a difference in your life, repeat.
There is no community without kindness. And kindness begins when we see ourselves in each other. Video from Brilliant Minds 2025, in conversation with comedian, producer, and best-selling author, Trevor Noah | 224 comments on LinkedIn
