Margaret Boe Birns ’62 is taking a closer look at one of literature’s most iconic mystery writers. Alongside her grandson, she co-authored Agatha Christie Under the Magnifying Glass, a new book exploring Christie’s legendary characters, intricate storytelling, and lasting cultural impact. Gold & Gathered in Charleston. 🐯💛

Nine brothers from the Beta Beta Pledge Class of 1983 (Class of ’87), along with their spouses, reunited for “Delt Fest ’26”—a weekend celebrating 43 years of friendship, brotherhood and DePauw connection. From historic Charleston adventures to long dinners and late-night conversations, the weekend was a reminder that the bonds formed at DePauw continue for life.

Met & Married at DePauw 💛🐯

Ben Batchelder ’23 and Grace Gliva Batchelder ’23 found more than a college experience at DePauw, they found each other.

“In August of 2019, we moved into DePauw University, ready to start a new chapter of our lives and meet new people. Grace’s roommate invited over some orientation friends she’d made, little did we know they were about to meet our future spouses. We continued making memories as friends until we crossed paths on campus one day, and I asked Grace to go to dinner.

We dated all throughout college, and got to make all of our college memories with one another. Eventually, we graduated together from DePauw University and about 1.5 years later, I proposed right back in Greencastle. Grace said yes and the Tigers got the Monon Bell victory the next day!”

From first days on campus to a full-circle proposal in Greencastle, their story is a reminder of the lifelong connections that begin at DePauw.
