Eleven years ago, this sorority was created. Many people helped build up this wonderful group of women, one of which was named Bob Hershberger. He was a friend, professor and academic advisor of the Psi Lambda Xi community. It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of our dear friend Bob Hershberger. Not many of you may realize it, but he greatly impacted Psi Lambda Xi during his time as our advisor. He believed in us and helped many of our women rise from the ashes and take flight. Some of you may not even know him, some maybe only saw him in passing, some may have only had classes with him and some may have been a big part of Bob’s life. Anyone who knows Bob knows how amazing of a person he was. Inside and outside of the classroom, he was always a friend and a mentor. Regardless of whether he was your advisor or not, he always had solid advice to give and would listen to everything you had to say. He may not have known it, but he was the rock of the student body. He cared about everyone and always wanted people to feel heard, safe and just plain happy. He was always welcoming toward his classes, inviting them to his house on the very last day of regular classes and could be found going out for coffee or the occasional beer. Without Bob, we may not have been such a strong well-rounded sorority. Even though he is gone, he is still part of our Psi Lambda Xi Family. He will forever be in our hearts, minds and souls. Until we meet again, Fly High Bob. Forever in the Flame.
