ACBSP accredits Guilford College’s business programs. This accreditation requires a systemic evaluation of our program effectiveness, and we have an extensive assessment program. While it’s always nice to see positive trends in our data, some of the most meaningful information comes from student comments. A student provided the following as part of a homework assignment. It may be one of the most powerful endorsements of the transformative impact of Guilford’s mission to provide a practical, excellent liberal arts education. This mission is not just a statement, but a powerful force that shapes student experiences and growth at Guilford.

"While attending Guilford College, I have learned many things inside and outside of the classroom. Inside the classroom, you learn the obvious things like whatever classes pertain to your major, but there is also much more. The liberal arts aspect helps you learn about things you never would have otherwise studied and gain new perspectives. There is also more than just that, though. I have learned that a good college applies its values within the classroom. This can be seen at Guilford. I have learned that it is possible to create an environment for all kinds of people to grow and not only learn about their field of study but also about each other and how to be an upstanding individual. This still holds true outside of the classroom in my Guilford experience as well. The people are what make this place special; there is so much friendliness and helpfulness in a welcoming environment all over campus. I have grown and matured immensely during my time at Guilford over the past few years. Overall, my knowledge has not only grown through my studies but also in how to uphold myself and navigate life, maintaining who I am and the values that make me, me."
