Most people get it wrong the first time… it's Bow-Dre 🎀🌳 — and honestly, I get it!

One of my college professors actually had me draw a hair bow and a tree on an index card and place it on my desk for the first few weeks of the semester until they finally remembered it 😂 True story!

But after 10+ years of serving families? They ALWAYS remember it — and more importantly, they always come back. 💛

Every parent asks me this — so I'm answering it once. 👇🏼

Most families think junior year is when you start working with a college counselor. And it's not wrong — but it's not what actually changes outcomes.

Starting in 9th or 10th grade means we're building — the right courses, the right activities, the right story.

By junior year, we're just reacting.

The families who start early don't just get into better schools. They feel different going through the process. Less panic. More confidence. More options.

Things nobody tells you before a campus visit 👇

✅ Visit on a class day — an empty campus on a weekend tells you nothing. Go when real students are there.
✅ Sit in on a class — most schools let you. Pick one in your major and see if you can actually picture yourself there.
✅ Ditch the tour for 20 min — find the dining hall, a random study spot, and just feel the vibe.
✅ Talk to a student who isn't the tour guide — they're trained to hype it. Ask someone studying outside what they actually think.
✅ Check the dorms and bathrooms — you'll thank yourself later 👀
✅ Eat the food — you're going to eat here 3x a day. It matters more than you think.
✅ Notice how you feel — can you see yourself here? Trust that gut check.

The best campus visit isn't the prettiest tour. It's the most honest one.
