My 5-year-old daughter died — after her funeral, the nurse who had cared for her slipped me a flash drive and a note that read, "YOUR HUSBAND IS LYING TO YOU! WATCH THE VIDEO."
A few weeks ago, my 5-year-old daughter, Grace, started feeling sick. At first, it seemed like a normal flu, but her fever became dangerously high and wouldn't go down, so she was rushed to the hospital.
The doctors ran countless tests, trying to figure out what was wrong. Then they suddenly took her to the intensive care unit. They wouldn't let me go in with her. A few minutes later, a doctor came out and told me Grace didn't survive.
My heart stopped.
I collapsed onto the floor and started sobbing.
After that, everything felt like a blur. For the next few days, I just sat in my room, staring at one spot on the wall. I was completely shattered.
My husband took care of the funeral arrangements and all the paperwork.
I could barely even stand during the funeral.
A week later, the hospital called. They still had Grace's clothes and said someone needed to pick them up.
I went to the hospital, and the nurse who had been with Grace that day met me and handed me a bag with her clothes inside.
The nurse looked down and whispered:
"I'm sorry for your loss."
Honestly, I was too broken to respond, so I just nodded and left.
When I got home, I carried the bag into Grace's room and emptied everything onto her bed.
I wanted to put her things back on the shelves in her closet. I still wasn't ready to pack them into boxes.
As I folded her pink sweater, a note slipped out of the right sleeve.
It was crumpled, and a FLASH DRIVE had been taped to the bottom of it.
I unfolded the note and felt the air leave my lungs as I read line after line:
"Your husband is lying to you. Please watch this video. Alone."
My heart pounded in my chest.
I waited until nighttime. And when Daniel finally fell asleep, I plugged the flash drive into my laptop.
The file contained hospital security footage from the day Grace died.
I pressed play — and my entire life shattered from WHAT I saw. ⬇️
