Dear Community Members and Partners,

The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina, Inc. (AMEXCAN) is delighted to extend an invitation to our Spring 2026 Intern Reception, a celebration of the remarkable achievements of our interns over the past 14 weeks. On Friday, April 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM. This celebration will take place at our office building located on 105 E Arlington Blvd Suite A, Greenville NC 27858. The RSVP form information is below.

This event serves as an opportunity to showcase the impactful projects and programs led by our interns from East Carolina University & University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the spring semester. These initiatives have been instrumental in advancing AMEXCAN’s objectives and implementing new projects that benefit the community. The interns will be presenting their work and sharing reflections on their enriching experiences at AMEXCAN. We take immense pride in their accomplishments and invite you to join us in celebrating their dedication and contributions.

Estimados miembros de la comunidad,

La Asociación de Mexicanos en Carolina del Norte (AMEXCAN) tiene el gusto de invitarles a participar en el taller virtual de nuestra Academia Legal, titulado “Proceso de Cómo Solicitar la Ciudadanía Estadounidense,” el cual se llevará a cabo el martes 17 de marzo de 2026 a las 6:00 p.m. vía Zoom (ID de la reunión: 840 2177 0056). Durante esta sesión contaremos con la participación de Mary Beth Reed, abogada de inmigración con Hatch Rockers Immigration, quien compartirá información clave sobre el proceso de naturalización en los Estados Unidos.

Este taller es especialmente importante para residentes permanentes legales (personas con residencia o “Green Card”) que están considerando iniciar su proceso de naturalización, así como para aquellos que desean informarse y prepararse para solicitar la ciudadanía en el futuro. Durante la presentación se abordarán temas como los requisitos generales para aplicar, el proceso de solicitud, recomendaciones para prepararse adecuadamente y otros aspectos importantes que las personas deben conocer antes de iniciar este trámite.

En AMEXCAN creemos firmemente que el acceso a información confiable y en nuestro idioma es fundamental para fortalecer a nuestra comunidad. Este espacio busca brindar orientación clara y accesible para que las personas puedan tomar decisiones informadas sobre su camino hacia la ciudadanía estadounidense.
Al finalizar el taller, quienes tengan preguntas adicionales o necesiten orientación más específica podrán recibir información sobre cómo programar una consulta directamente con la firma legal de la abogada invitada, si así lo desean.

Estimados miembros de la comunidad:

La Asociación de Mexicanos en Carolina del Norte, Inc. (AMEXCAN), bajo su departamento de abogacía y participación cívica latina en Carolina del Norte (NCLACE), les hacen una cordial invitación a participar en la Mesa de Diálogo: “Elecciones 2026”, un espacio virtual para la reflexión y el diálogo, enfocado en el voto latino y su impacto directo en nuestras comunidades.
Este dialogo se llevará a cabo el miércoles 11 de febrero del 2026, de 11:00a.m. a 12:00p.m., hora del Este, de manera virtual a través de Zoom. La información de acceso será compartida próximamente.

El objetivo de esta mesa de diálogo es, generar un espacio de reflexión sobre la importancia del voto latino sobre las elecciones del 2026 y su impacto en la comunidad, particularmente en el contexto en que la población latina continúa siendo el grupo demográfico de mayor crecimiento en Carolina del Norte. A pesar de este crecimiento, nuestra participación electoral aún no se ve reflejada plenamente con nuestra presencia ni nuestro poder colectivo.

Durante las elecciones del 2026, se elegirán cargos claves a nivel local, estatal y federal, cuyas decisiones influyen directamente en áreas fundamentales como: la educación, la salud, los derechos laborales, la vivienda y la participación cívica. Una participación informada y activa de nuestra comunidad es esencial para asegurar que nuestras voces, nuestras prioridades y nuestras familias, estén representadas en los espacios donde se hacen la toma de decisiones.

Esta mesa de diálogo, contará con la participación de representantes de organizaciones comprometidas con la democracia y la participación cívica, incluyendo You Can Vote NC, la Asociación de Mexicanos en Carolina del Norte, Inc.

(AMEXCAN), Mujeres Organizando Oportunidades Notables y promotoras comunitarias, con años de experiencia trabajando en Carolina del Norte. A través de este diálogo se abordarán temas como: el acceso al voto, la educación cívica, la participación de votantes primerizos y los retos y oportunidades que pueden enfrentar la comunidad latina en el próximo ciclo electoral.

AMEXCAN reafirma su compromiso de empoderar a la comunidad latina mediante información clara, accesible y no partidista. Les extendemos una cordial invitación a sumarse a este espacio de diálogo y reflexión para poder fortalecer juntos nuestra participación democrática.

The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina, Inc. (AMEXCAN) and North Carolina
Latino Education Alliance (NCLEA) invite you to join us for our August NC Latino Education Alliance meeting via ZOOM on Tuesday, August 26th, from 11 AM to 12 PM. We are excited to announce that our guest speaker will be Steven V. Roman, the Triple P Regional Coordinator (Positive Parenting Program) from the Pitt County Health Department. The Triple P Regional Program (Positive Parenting Program) offered by the Pitt County Health Department provides parents and caregivers with practical strategies to build strong, healthy relationships with their children. This evidence-based program focuses on promoting positive behavior, managing misbehavior, and encouraging emotional resilience in children. Services are available in both group and one-on-one formats, tailored to meet the unique needs of each family. By equipping parents with useful tools and confidence, Triple P helps strengthen families and supports healthy child development across the region.

The North Carolina Latino Education Alliance exists to establish and develop an
education-based resource network in North Carolina to progress the academic aspirations of the youth. It also aims to connect communities, community-based organizations, and academic institutions across North Carolina by offering a space for resource sharing, networking, and open discussions.

Dear Community Partners and Members,

The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina (AMEXCAN) is excited to offer opportunities for individuals to get involved in meaningful community programs this year. We are seeking volunteers to assist with various activities, including our annual Summer Camp, tutoring, 4H program, and community events such as Día del Niño and Día de los Mu***os. These activities will serve children and families in Wilson County, providing enriching experiences that foster education, cultural connection, and community engagement.

Volunteering with AMEXCAN offers individuals the chance to:
● Develop leadership and teamwork skills while working with diverse community groups
● Enhance resume with valuable experience in community service
● Support the personal growth of children and families by creating memorable impacts
● Receive service hours, perfect for students looking to give back to the community

Volunteers will assist with activities at events, tutor children, help coordinate event logistics, engage with families, support staff members, and help to create a welcoming environment for all attendees. Their support is instrumental in ensuring the success of these programs. We invite individuals to participate and make a difference in our Wilson community!
