Sigma Phi Epsilon East Carolina University Chapter

Sigma Phi Epsilon East Carolina University Chapter The offical page for the NC Kappa Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon at East Carolina University. We are Sigma Phi Epsilon - NC Kappa.

We were founded and chartered here at East Carolina University in 1961, and our Fraternity was nationally founded in 1901 at Richmond College in Richmond, VA. Here at our ECU foundation, and nationwide, Sigma Phi Epsilon promotes healthy relationships with their brothers, alumni, and the College/University which they are associated with. Each brother is expected to and held accountable for showing

virtue, diligence, and brotherly love to everyone he may encounter. SigEp at ECU provides gentleman with career opportunities, philanthropy work, and support from each of his brothers. On a national level, SigEp allows gentleman to create an unbelievable network and many friendships, provides career opportunities within the Fraternity and further, and most importantly provides gentleman with a future of being a balanced man.

Family, friends, and alumni. As many of you may know the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at East Carolina University has been officially closed. Founded in 1961 here at East Carolina, we have always strived to produce the best possible gentlemen, provide safe and social activities, and to give back to our community and our philanthropies. Those who received the email from our National headquarters, were unfortunately misled. The actions of a few brothers, some of whom have moved on in life and no longer are associated with the fraternity, were included in the reasoning for our chapter's closure. These dates of allegations were traced back to 2010, before our oldest active member had even graduated high school. We as the brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon do not post this to ask for forgiveness nor pity, but to let everyone know that we will be closing our doors, and we will be falling on the sword together, as one. We want to express that our Nationals cannot and will not ever be able to destroy the friendships and brotherhood that WE have created at East Carolina University, simply because it doesn't fit their business model. SigEp NC Kappa wishes the brothers, both graduated and still in school, the best of luck in future endeavors and to not fall apart, but come together and continue our friendship that we have accumulated over the years. This, my brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon at East Carolina University, is the true meaning HFF.

Founders Day is an opportunity to celebrate our success and to make sure even more brothers can have the SigEp journey. As we honor Founders Day by taking a moment to remember what the Fraternity has done for us, the journey of the next SigEp brother starts with you.

Throughout the day, brothers and friends around the country will be coming together so that more young men can experience SigEp.
