Scarecrows in the Garden runs from September 29 through November 5 this year! Everyone is welcome to visit the Garden and the Scarecrow displays on weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM. Can't visit during the week? No worries! Scarecrow Saturday will be on October 25th from 10 AM to 2 PM with fun activities for the entire family. All is open and free to the public.

The UGA Master Gardeners program will be offering a Garden Workshop Series - Plant, Grow, Thrive with topic classes on March 5, April 2, May 7, June 4 and July 9. If you cannot participate in person, there will be a webinar for each topic offered at a later date. Those attending our Scarecrow Saturday in the Garden were able to vote their choice of the best scarecrow display this year. The ballots have been counted! ALICE IN WONDERLAND created by Humble Pie Catering was the top vote getter. PINK IVY de VIL created by AKA Sorority finished second. There were some great displays this year! We thank all those who participated. The scarecrows will be on display for one more week (through November 1st). Come on out and enjoy.

Although Scarecrow Saturday is over, the scarecrows will be on display in the Garden through October. Three other great displays: Dr. Almost There (UGA Food Safety and Food Science), Gnomes Bodies Love Kids (First Baptist Church Weekday Education), and Fighting for Justice with Integrity (Dutton and Dutton Law Firm).

SCARECROW SATURDAY is TOMORROW! 11 am to 3 pm. Here's another sampling of the scarecrows on display. Jack and Jill Redding (UGA Dept of Plant Pathology & UGA Dept of Soil and Crop Sciences), Grainy Wheat and Her Whiskered Friends (UGA Wheat Team), Harvest Slasher (UGA Center for Urban Agriculture), and Marie Fort Garden Club. The Flint River Gourders will be providing a very interesting Halloween craft project at Scarecrow Saturday. The first 100 attendees of any age will be able to create their own Ghost Gourds. Remember! Scarecrow Saturday is this Saturday, October 19th, from 11 am to 3 pm at the UGA Research and Education Garden. It's all free and open to the public!
