On Friday, January 26th, GCC French students and alumni had the opportunity to attend an opera in French. The Pittsburgh Opera staged Christoph Gluck’s most celebrated opera, “Iphigénie en Tauride” at its CAPA theatre.

The hills are alive with the Sound of Music, on stage in Ketler Auditorium Wednesday through Saturday! The Language Department is proud to support all its students in the cast, crew, and orchestra! Did you know that the Sound of Music has entirely different names in Spanish and French? The translations are “The Rebellious Novice” (in Latin America) or “Smiles and Tears” (in Spain) and “The Melody of Happiness” (in French)!

Spanish club members and Spanish professor Dra. Carruth visited Pitt’s Latin American and Caribbean Festival last weekend! They had a great time trying new food, viewing art, and connecting with vendors and presenters in Spanish.
