Over the summer, Professor Roberta Flowers traveled to Brazil to speak at the Public Prosecution Office of the State of Minas Gerais' the 5th Edition of its Criminal Justice Clinic, which focused on jury trials.
With her extensive experience studying and teaching the U.S. criminal justice system and jury trials, Flowers shared insights to help compare and contrast the Brazilian and U.S. criminal justice systems, particularly regarding how jury trials operate, procedural safeguards, trial advocacy techniques, and courtroom strategies.
Professor Flowers also took part in activities at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, the Court of Justice of the State of Minas Gerais, the historic city of Ouro Preto, and Milton Campos School of Law.
