We were pleased to welcome Senator Chris Kolker to Western Colorado University for a campus tour with university leadership.

During his visit, Senator Kolker toured the Rady Building, including the facility’s mechanical room, our latest student furniture fabrication projects, the wind tunnel, and our lab spaces. It was a great opportunity to showcase the hands-on engineering education and facilities supporting our students.

Thanks to Dr. Ben Weihrauch, CU Engineering Senior Director of Student Professional Development, for visiting Gunnison for Part 2 of our Engineering Speaker Series in partnership with the Engineering Career Hub!

Ben’s talk, Engineering Your Brand, encouraged students to reflect on their strengths, experiences, and values to identify what sets them apart and communicate their personal brand.

He also joined eight EPP students for a networking dinner on Monday evening. Thanks, Ben, for making time to connect with our students and share your advice!

Rady MakerSpace TAs Nick Selleck, Austin Reitz, and Noah Bulleri designed and built a new sign for , RMBL 365, in downtown Crested Butte.

The project took them through the full process, from working with the client and navigating historic district requirements to cutting, welding, painting, and assembling the final sign in the MakerSpace.

The sign is headed to Crested Butte this week. Keep an eye out for it and go check it out!

A big thank you to our panelists and students who joined us for Part 1 of our 4-part Engineering Speaker Series: the Engineering Industry Panel Discussion!

Engineering meets mountain rescue. ⛰️

Two EPP senior capstone teams partnered with the Western Mountain Rescue Team to design systems for real rescue scenarios. Both projects were showcased at Engineering Expo this spring.

One team created a truck-bed organization system to speed up gear access during missions, while another designed a litter wheel attachment to help rescuers transport patients across rugged terrain.
