The Southeastern Louisiana University Rugby Football Club has been an established organization at the school since 1967. It is the oldest, and in many ways, the most prestigious college rugby club in the state. Though we are not recognized by the state as an official NCAA sport, we compete at the same level as the other sports. Rivals include the University of Southern Mississippi , Tulane, Univer

sity of New Orleans , Louisiana Tech, University of Louisiana Lafayette , and many other prestigious schools in the south. We also compete in man tournaments throughout the nation form Georgia to Tennessee to Arkansas . Southeastern Louisiana University Rugby is trying to do their part in making this exhilarating sport an official NCAA sport in the future. Southeastern Louisiana University Rugby competes in the Deep South Rugby Conference, where we placed 2nd in 2003. In 2001, Southeastern won the Deep South championship, and moved to the nationals in Carolina where they beat The Citadel, but were then eliminated by one of the top contenders in the nation, defending national champions Arkansas St. Southeastern Rugby is involved every semester in non-profit activities such as; Alzheimer’s walk, adopt – a – street foundation, and project clean campus. We also are involved in fundraisers such as Rock & Roar, the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival, and Bar-b-ques on campus.

Our Lions Rugby team is in the Sweet 16 of the National Collegiate Rugby playoffs. We need to travel to Culpepper, VA this Thursday November 16th thru Sunday November 19th. Our per player expense to move and house the team only is roughly $400.00 per player. The total expense for this trip is $10,000.00. Players have personal expenses that they also need to cover...this amount just covers the travel and housing.
We are asking for your support. Please consider sponsoring a player by going to the website above. You can select the “Other” donation amount and donate that specific amount. Please also leave a comment showing your support for the club or for an individual on the team.
If you cannot donate to this extent, please consider any of the other optional amounts listed. Please help us raise this amount between now and tomorrow afternoon so that we can make the arrangements needed to move the team.
