To mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Southeastern invites students, faculty, staff and community members to come together in remembrance and service.

Participants can honor the 343 New York City firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice by climbing 110 stories at the University Center or by giving back through campus service projects, including Roomie’s Pride Pantry and the Sustainability Garden.

Whether you climb, volunteer or come to show your support, your presence helps honor those we lost through unity, service and remembrance.

Together, we remember. Together, we serve.

This fall, as the nation marks the 25th Anniversary of Sept. 11, Southeastern Louisiana University’s Office of Military and Veteran Success, the University Police Department, and Roomie’s Pride Pantry are hosting the second annual Memorial Stair Climb and Community Service for 9/11 Day.

Please join us in congratulating Robert “Rob” Dugas ’86, Southeastern’s 2026 Alumnus of the Year!

A retired executive and former Senior Vice President at Chick-fil-A, Rob has built an incredible career rooted in leadership, innovation, humility, and service. But perhaps even more meaningful is the way he has continued to give back to his alma mater, mentoring students, speaking to classes, leading workshops, supporting programs like Project PULL, and helping Southeastern students build connections and see what’s possible beyond the classroom.

His commitment to helping others reach their full potential and his unwavering dedication to Southeastern truly embody what it means to be a Lion.

We are so proud to celebrate Rob and the lasting impact he continues to make on our university and our Lion family!
