While our students are away for the summer, we love seeing our campus filled with people, purpose, and community through events like these. From fellowship and worship to training and connection, it has been a joy to welcome these groups to HLGU this week.

Yesterday we honored Coach Dan Hurst at his retirement party, marking the close of an amazing 47-year coaching career and 25 years of faithful service to HLGU. From leading programs across multiple sports to mentoring countless student athletes, Coach Hurst’s impact reaches far beyond wins and losses.

A coach, teacher, leader, and friend, his passion for developing students both on and off the field has shaped generations. Thank you, Coach Hurst, for your unwavering dedication and the lasting mark you’ve left on HLGU.

Hannibal-LaGrange University is hiring an Open Rank Professor of Counseling / Counseling Program Director to lead and grow its online graduate counseling program.

This position provides academic, administrative, and spiritual leadership for the Master of Arts in Counseling program through curriculum development, accreditation preparation, faculty leadership, and strategic program growth. The role also includes teaching graduate counseling courses, mentoring students, and developing clinical partnerships throughout the region.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in counselor education, strong leadership and organizational skills, and a commitment to integrating Christian faith with professional counseling practice.

Since joining the HLGU faculty in 2013, Dr. Davis-Maas has faithfully served students through excellence in nursing education, Christ-centered mentorship, and transformational leadership. Her dedication to academic excellence and compassionate care has made a lasting impact on both the nursing program and the lives of her students.

On behalf of Hannibal-LaGrange University, we want to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country this Memorial Day.
