Hannibal-LaGrange University is seeking a Director of International Students and ESL Programs to lead and support a thriving international student community while advancing HLGU’s ESL program.

This leadership role provides oversight of international student services, including compliance, recruitment, retention, and care, while also serving as the primary architect of the University’s ESL (English as a Second Language) program. The position plays a key role in supporting student success, strengthening academic pathways, and fostering a welcoming, Christ-centered environment for students from around the world.

Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with federal regulations, overseeing ESL curriculum and advising, supporting international recruitment efforts, and collaborating across departments to enhance the overall student experience.

The Director will also provide mentorship, guide students through academic and cultural transitions, and contribute to strategic initiatives that support enrollment and retention.

Ideal candidates will have an interest in:
• International student support and engagement
• ESL program leadership and development
• Student success and cross-cultural communication
• Serving within a Christ-centered university community

This role is centered on building relationships and guiding prospective students through the college decision process. From high school visits and college fairs to campus events and one-on-one conversations, this position plays a key role in welcoming future Trojans to HLGU.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to connect with students and families, and a passion for helping others take the next step in their educational journey within a Christ-centered environment.

Responsibilities include recruiting students, representing the University at events, counseling prospective students and families, and supporting enrollment strategies and initiatives.
