Congratulations to all who were honored—we are proud to celebrate the many ways you continue to represent and support Hanover College with excellence.

The Alumni Achievement Award, Hanover College's highest alumni honors, was presented to A. Richard M. Blaiklock '90 and Wiley Kite '90 during last week's ceremony. Rachel Slade Sharpe '13 received the Distinguished Young Alumni Award, the highest honor bestowed upon alumni under the age of 40. Both awards recognize Hanoverians who have enhanced the reputation of the College by making significant contributions to their community, state, and nation through professional service, public service, or civic activities. Congratulations to this year's honorees!

Artist’s Statement — The Weight of Expectations:

“The reference photo for this piece was taken on a study abroad trip to Germany during my second year at Hanover. It was during this trip I learned more about myself as a person, as well as an artist. A semester after my trip, I painted this piece, entitled ‘The Weight of Expectations’, to reflect my personal exploration of the ways in which I present myself and how others perceive me — broken, yet put together, all at the same time. I feel that in my time at Hanover, I've had this experience time and time again.”
