It is with a heavy heart that I'm writing to report that Joe Rago '05 Phi Delt and son of Dartmouth died this past week. If any of you read the Wall Street Journal, you've read his work. He won the Pulitzer Prize at age 28 for his editorials challenging Obamacare, and was the editor of the Dartmouth Review as a student. He also is one of those guys that would be part of the last group to leave the basement any given night - loved his fraternity and knew how to rage. If you've never read his work, I would encourage you to follow the below links or Google his name. He had a remarkable command of prose and his writing was a true force.

Any GDX guys gonna go up to Dartmouth this coming weekend to watch football take on Princeton and fight for a share of the Ivy Title? We are trying to put together something at the house, and want to gauge interest so we get enough supplies.

GDX and Dartmouth Football alumni,
You gotta check out and share this KickStarter campaign for a Mobile Tackling Target developed by Elliot Kastner '13 (GDX brother and Dartmouth football player) and several other rugby and football player engineers.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/873899740/mobile-tackling-target-a-better-way-to-train

Mobile Tackling Target is a product being developed by a few engineers who played football and rugby at Dartmouth with Head Football Coach Eugene Teevens. This campaign will complete our first round of funding and cover materials costs for prototype development this summer. With your support we can reduce concussion incidence and make football a safer sport. For more information please read our Kickstarter page.
**Every dollar raised will be matched by a private donor, so your donation has twice the impact!**

The Mobile Tackling Target is designed to accurately mimic player motion thereby improving tackling performance and reducing injury.

Seems fitting that during the same week as the 80th anniversary of the house, Gamma Delta Chi was recognized for putting on the Best Leadership Program of 2015 - for ExL University - at the Greek Letter Organization Awards (http://www.exluniversity.com). There were actually 2 awards available for Best Leadership Program, and ExL University won both - for one session held at Gamma Delta Chi and one that was held at Sigma Phi Epsilon. The ExL University program was developed by Gamma Delt brothers Gregg Fairbrothers '76 and John Turner '04 and benefited from the involvement of many alumni and students to put on all 8 sessions - each held at a different fraternity or sorority and streamed lived on YouTube for free.
You can view the recordings for all sessions at: http://www.exluniversity.com/video-streaming/

You can see a list of all the award recipients at:

These pictures are from the 2015 Football Players and Parents Dinner that the chapter put on the Saturday evening before the football banquet. All the GDX brothers and their family members were in attendance. Jeff Winthrop '15 Secretary, his family, and their entertainment company put the whole thing together and prepared a fantastic steak dinner for the brothers. According to the brothers it was an absolute blast and they were excited about how good the house and chapter room looked for the event.
