Dear friends:
These are challenging times for many, including our international students, and we hope we all do our best to show support and love for the people around us. On behalf of the International Student Association, we ask you to please support the efforts of various groups on campus in response to the recent Executive Orders on immigration, including this initiative on behalf of Kasia Kready & Veselin Nanov '20:
"In light of the recent Executive Orders signed by President Trump, we have decided to form an action group in support of our international students and immigrants/refugees in the Upper Valley and abroad.
We invite the Dartmouth Community, the Upper Valley Community to join us along with these other organizations to plan collective action on Saturday, February 4 at 6-9PM in Haldeman 041.
Please email Kasia Kready '17 if you have any questions or concerns. Below is the proposed agenda for the meeting.
Thanks!
Kasia Kready & Veselin Nanov '20:
Proposed Agenda for the Meeting:
1. Introductions and opening statements by Veselin Nanov, Kasia Kready, and Professor Irene Kacandes
2. Defining the problem and statement of purpose: We want to collectively define the problem in which we want to work towards solving. Then we would like to brainstorm a working statement of purpose such that everyone at the meeting knows the aims/goals of our collective action.
3. Decide organizational structure: We would like to decide how to best organize to have the most productive and sustainable actions.
4. Brainstorm and plan collective actions: We would like to emphasize existing efforts on campus and in the community, as well as plan future collective actions."
Thank you all very much!
