Our amazing faculty recently visited Lee Means Elementary School in Harlingen to inspire young minds and introduce students to the exciting world of podiatric medicine. 👣✨

We are incredibly fortunate to have faculty members who are not only passionate clinicians, but also dedicated mentors and professors who truly care about inspiring the next generation. Their commitment to education and community outreach continues to make a lasting impact both inside and outside the classroom.

We hope to see some of these bright young faces pursuing their dreams and joining the future of podiatry one day! 🩺

Field Day was so much fun this past Friday! ☀️🏐💪

We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to take a well-deserved study break, break a sweat, and enjoy an afternoon filled with fun. From tug of war and capture the flag to relays and volleyball, it was amazing seeing everyone come together outside of the classroom. 🏃‍♀️🎉

Sometimes it’s nice to step away from the lectures and classroom to appreciate a beautiful day, good company, and the friendships we’ve built along the way. We’re incredibly thankful to be part of a campus community where students can do more than just study together.

A huge thank you to UTRGV Rec for hosting this event and making the trip out to the Harlingen campus! We can’t wait for the next one! 🙌

The Special Olympics Summer Games in Melissa, TX were an incredible experience this past weekend! 🌟🏅

Our students had the honor of volunteering with Healthy Athletes on May 1st & 2nd, where they performed foot screenings and helped ensure athletes were ready to compete at their very best. 👟

We are so proud of our students for dedicating their time, skills, and compassion to give back to the community. Their commitment to service continues to make a meaningful impact both on and off the field.

Field Day is THIS Friday! ☀️🏃‍♀️

Take a break from studying and come hang out with us on the outside lawn from 3:30–6:00 PM! We’ve got a full lineup of team games ready to go:

🏆 Tug of War
🚩 Capture the Flag
⭕️ Pass the Hoop
🏃‍♂️ Obstacle Course Relay (3-legged, minefield, bean bags, back-to-back)

Make sure you’re there right at 3:30 PM so you can get placed on a team—everything is team-based, so don’t miss out from the start!

Come compete, laugh with your classmates, and enjoy a fun afternoon. Food and drinks will be provided 🍔🥤

We had an amazing time at the Bandera Conference this past weekend! 🌿✨ It was the perfect mix of fun, relaxation, and learning.

Our students had the incredible opportunity to present their research in front of Texas residency directors, learn more about different programs, and connect with current residents. Experiences like these continue to inspire growth beyond the classroom. A huge congratulations to all of our students who presented—your hard work, dedication, and passion for research truly shined 👏

From horseback riding to karaoke nights and taking in the beautiful views of nature, this weekend was one to remember 🤠🎤🌄 The perfect reset before getting back to the books 📚

Admitted Student Day 2026 🦶✨

On Friday, April 24th, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome some of our incoming Class of 2030 to UTRGV SOPM! From faculty meet & greets and student panels to hands-on facility tours and a “day in the life” experience, our future podiatrists got a glimpse of what awaits them on their journey.

We loved meeting each of you and are so excited to see these new faces join our SOPM family. The future of podiatric medicine is bright, and it starts right here.

Experiences like these continue to inspire our students to stay curious and pursue learning beyond the classroom. From hands-on workshops to collaborative learning environments, opportunities like TexFix play a vital role in shaping the future of foot and ankle specialists.
