Attention all "Happy" Video Participants:
Just a reminder, on Monday the 19th during 8th and 9th period we will be filming our portion of Harlingen South's "Happy" music video. As you know, we are excited to be a part of this video and will be dressed in our Aladdin costumes during filming. (So be sure to have your costume fully prepared before hand) Filming will be held in FA5. See you then!

Harlingen South Speech Drama Debate invites you to our Annual National Qualifier Showcase and Silent Auction! At our Showcase you can see our Nationally recognized students showcase their talents for you! You may also participate in our Silent Auction, where you could have the chance to win different high quality items! (Such as Gift Cards, Furniture, and so much more!) Our National Qualifier Showcase is Open To The Public, thus all are welcome! Details, such as time and place, are down below. See you there!
*Students be sure to know what you will be doing during the showcase; everyone has been assigned specific tasks for the night (if you do not know your task, please ask any of our coaches)

Attention all NIETOC competitors:
Congratulations on qualifying for the National Individual Events Tournament Of Champions! This year the NIETOC will be held in Mankato, Minnesota. Be sure to be at the Airport tomorrow morning at 6:15 am. We will be there for 5 days, so be sure to pack AT LEAST five day/night outfits and 3 Suits to compete. Temperature will range from 70 down to 40 degrees (so BE SURE TO DRESS WARM) and there will be a high chance of rain (try to bring an umbrella). Get plenty of rest and we will see you tomorrow!

Attention all UIL:
As you know tomorrow we will leave to compete at the Regional UIL Competition at UTSA in San Antonio. Be sure to be at School by 8:00 am tomorrow morning prepared, packed and ready to compete. Make sure to pack 2 suits, overnight sleeping clothes, and toiletries. For those in Debate, don't forget to bring your laptops and for those in Prose and Poetry don't forget to bring your binders (and documentation just to be safe) Now get some sleep Hawks and we will see you bright and early tomorrow, see you then.

Congratulations to our National Forensic League Tournament Qualifiers! These talented students will be traveling this summer to the largest academic competition in the United States. The tournament will be held in Overland Park, Kansas on June 15th through the 20th, 2014. These students competed at the Gulf Coast National Forensic League Qualifier. At the competition overall Harlingen High School South earned Sweepstakes! Along with earning Sweepstakes these students individually did a phenomenal job! In order to qualify to compete at the National Forensic League these students had to either place 1st or 2nd in this prestigious tournament! Congratulations Team see you at Nationals!

Duo Interpretation: Christopher Esparza and Paige Robles 2rd, and Rebecca Pockrus and Matt Almaguer 3rd.

This weekend the Harlingen South UIL team Competed at the Annual 32 5A Academic UIL Competition. The Speech and Debate team won overall Speech Sweepstakes. A well deserved Congratulations goes out to Maegan Conley, Lee Ann Ince, Julia Brebner and the One Act Play cast for taking home 1st place at the UIL Zone A One Act Play Competition! We hope your Spring Break was fun filled and progressive, but as Spring Break comes to an end UIL comes into Season! All competitors need to be fully prepared for UIL, from congress to poetry EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE READY.
