Twenty-three local history enthusiasts joined us for the first session of Let’s Talk White County History—and there's still time to be part of the conversation! 📚

Last week's class featured human-interest, crime, sports, and political stories from White County in the 1930s. Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions and share their own knowledge and memories.

The next session, happening tomorrow, will include discussion about establishing a White County Hall of Fame and explore the area's historic oil boom.

⚡ Sparks were flying in the SIC Welding Lab as local junior high students learned hands-on welding skills during a recent 4-H Spin Club Welding Class in Harrisburg!

Over five evenings, students learned welding safety, basic welding procedures, and skills used in the welding and farm industries. Many were welding for the very first time and created projects they can proudly display at their county fairs this summer, including boot racks, camping grates, welded names, and horseshoe art.

Thank you to Doug Mayfield, Dean of Career and Technical Education, along with Jerry Jones and Johnathon Vinyard, for helping introduce these students to valuable skills and career opportunities in the skilled trades.
