🎨 36 artists. 61 works. Five states. Seven years.

The Ella Elizabeth Hise Museum of Regional Art is celebrating its seventh anniversary with an exhibition as diverse as the artists who have helped shape its first seven years.

“Seven Years of Regional Artistry” opens Sept. 14 at SIC and brings together work from artists across Southern Illinois and the greater Ohio River Valley.

And when we say diverse, we mean it: paintings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, cyanotype collage, woodworking, typewriter-generated art and more.

You might find a watercolor where science meets art, a photograph of a familiar Southern Illinois landscape, three handcrafted Windsor chairs — or a portrait created one keystroke at a time on a manual typewriter.
