The deadline to finish a PTK Edge program for the chance to win a prize is March 6th.

Have you explored the Professional Development page on the PTK website? Choose from topics like: Leadership development, Competitive Edge, Healthcare Edge, Research Edge, Employment Edge and Transfer Edge.

Each program is self-paced and designed to inform you on these topics and they will test your knowledge with quizzes.

I know I know... you have enough to do with work, family, homework, classes, grocery shopping and all that comes with day-to-day living... but these are informative, worth it, and not as daunting as they may sound. If I'm not mistaken I completed Competitive Edge in one day.

Are you passionate about writing and would like the opportunity to be rewarded and/or published?

Phi Theta Kappa publishes an annual honor's anthology featuring poems, short stories, essays, dramas and visual arts from members around the globe. There are also scholarship opportunities within the Nota Bene submission reviews.

Application is open until 4/23/25. You must be an active community college student working towards a 2 year degree or 1 year certificate (those who are no longer attending a community college are not eligible) to be considered.

REMINDER: HACC has a great writing workshop and tutors available to help you with your submission(s). Be sure to use the valuable resources provided to you via your tuition to increase your chance to recieve recognition for your amazing talent!

Reminder: If you're on track to graduate this May, you MUST apply to graduate by March 1st.

To do this -
1. Log into your my.hacc portal
2. Click on "Student Profile" (on the left on a computer, scroll down if on a phone)
3. Select "Apply to Graduate" (on the left on a computer, scroll down if on a phone)
4. Fill out the form and submit!

Good Morning Friends!

Thank you to all who have filled out the survey to let us know what you're looking for out of your PTK ANO experience!

Looking over the responses a lot of you are hoping for the same things: information about scholarships, personal growth, ways to serve the community and getting to know fellow members/students. I promise you that we hear you and will be working to bring some great opportunities your way!

Would you like to be involved in creating and planning these opportunities? Consider applying to join our leadership board!

HACC is a unique community college with 4 campus spread across Central Pennsylvania, which can sometimes make it a bit more challenging to make sure everyone is included. The more diversity we have on the board, the more ideas and support we have to move forward with events, workshops and more.

As many of you know, your Phi Theta Kappa membership comes with plenty of member benefits. While we all mostly focus on the potential scholarships, another area that deserves attention is the Professional Development Courses they offer on their website.

"No matter your ultimate goal, PTK Edge™ gives you the edge you need to get ahead. These courses are free, online, self-paced, and offered exclusively to Phi Theta Kappa members."

PTK Edge isn't just great for your personal life, it's great for your PTK ANO Chapter as well! To kick off 2025 we'd like to reward students who take advantage of these programs.

From now through March 6th, anyone who completes an Edge program will be eligible to win one of two prizes! Simply complete an Edge program, and then complete the google form showing interest. We will be selecting TEN WINNERS!

Some of you may look at that aerial yoga offer and wonder what I'm up to. March 20th is the International Day of Happiness and I thought what better way to celebrate than by doing something that you can't HELP but smile while doing. This will take place on the second floor of Columbia Kettleworks in Columbia, PA. There is space available at 5pm and 6pm for classes.

Winners will be announced on March 7th.
*must be a PTK member and active HACC student to be eligible

Congratulations to everyone on the end of what I hope to be was a great semester! Whether you've graduated, have off until spring term, or have already jumped into the winter semester - please remember to take a moment to be proud of yourself for all the hard work and dedication you've put in these last few months.
