A research paper by a Harrisburg University of Science and Technology ISEM Ph.D. student has been published. The conference paper, titled ‘Tensor Flow Model with Hybrid Optimization Algorithm for Solving Vehicle Routing Problem’, is authored by Jai Keerthy Chowlur Revanna in collaboration with his Thesis Supervisor, Dr. Nushwan Yousuf B. Al-Nakash. The paper appears as a chapter in the conference proceedings, Inventive Systems and Controls, which is published by Springer Link.

Several Harrisburg-area startup businesses have received a financial boost thanks to the M&T Bank’s Capital Region Multicultural Small Business Lab. Three winners were crowned after a pitch competition on June 21 wrapped up a seven-week business accelerator program that began in May in partnership with the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Harrisburg University. During the free program, local minority entrepreneurs attended weekly business classes at HU.

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology has been instrumental in bringing many of the acts to the region. Dr. Eric Darr, Harrisburg University’s president, and Frank Schofield, director of live entertainment and media services for Harrisburg University, joined WITF’s The Spark to discuss HU's role in revitalizing the music scene.

Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania have become a hotbed for venues for live music acts. Maybe not the huge stadium show, although Hershey host those, but the places that can seat 1,500 people or less. And the bands may be less well-known on the radio but have national followings.
