Dr. Clay Guynn is a dedicated and highly experienced sports medicine professional who has advanced his expertise through extensive internships, residencies, and an AOA-accredited sports medicine fellowship. With years of hands-on experience, he is sought after for his work in sports medicine events and team coverage, as well as his commitment to supporting athletes with disabilities. In addition to his clinical work, Clay brings valuable classroom teaching experience and has contributed to the field through published research in the Journal of Orthopaedic Experience and Innovation on Lumbar Cryoneurolysis and Archives of Rehab in Clinical Translation for treatment of spasticity with cryoneurolysis. He remains actively engaged in advancing sports medicine through professional presentations, medical mission trips, and ongoing volunteer service

Kelsey Edwards Gray is a dedicated Physician Assistant licensed in both Virginia and New York, with over seven years of experience in women’s health. She is committed to creating a supportive environment where women feel heard. She is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and strives to educate her patients so they can be their own best advocates. Kelsey played a vital role as a frontline provider during the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City and continues to serve her community through her involvement at her local hospital. She holds multiple advanced certifications, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Electronic Fetal Monitoring. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Association of Physician Assistants in Obstetrics and Gynecology. A committed alumna, she returned to Lincoln Memorial University in 2016 to speak at freshman convocation and remains engaged through her membership in the alumni association.

40 Under Forty Honoree Spotlight ✨ Congratulations to David Gratz ('14)!

David Gratz is an experienced legal professional with more than a decade of experience in criminal justice and private practice. He is the owner of Gratz Law Firm, PLLC, where he focuses on criminal law, estate planning, litigation, and general civil litigation, with extensive jury and bench trial experience. Gratz served more than five years as a Special Agent with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, providing key testimony in high-profile cases, including the Megan Boswell murder trial. During that time, he also worked as a Legal Instructor, training law enforcement on the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments, with an emphasis on search and seizure, interviews, and interrogations. His investigative work included violent crimes, missing persons, and complex white-collar cases. He also served five years as an Assistant District Attorney in Hamblen County. Gratz remains committed to his alma mater through service on the Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law Alumni Association Board. He lives in East Tennessee with his wife and two children and enjoys farm life and collecting antique John Deere tractors.

Mason Goad is a passionate educator and strength and conditioning professional who continued his education after graduation by earning a Master of Applied Exercise Science in Strength and Conditioning from Concordia University Chicago. He holds several industry certifications, including USA Weightlifting Level 1 (USAW-L1) and International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), demonstrating his commitment to excellence in fitness and performance. Mason is the founder of Claiborne County Schools Elite Fitness Day, an initiative he created to promote health and competition among students across the county. He remains closely connected to Lincoln Memorial University through his service as a board member and presenter for TAHPERD, where he mentors and supports physical education student-teachers.

Dr. Logan Elliott is a dedicated educator and leader who earned a master's degree in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University before attending Lincoln Memorial University. He is an active member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, TOSS, ISTE, ASCD, and Alpha Chi National Honor Society, and holds multiple professional certifications, including CPI Certified Educator, Nearpod Certified Educator, Apple Certified Educator, Prodigy Champion Educator, iReady Certified Educator, Microsoft Certified Educator, and Level 3 Google Certified Educator. Logan is committed to fostering student success by building and sustaining strong community partnerships that provide comprehensive support for students and their families. Beyond his professional work, he is actively involved in his local church, where he contributes to outreach efforts and community service initiatives focused on supporting families and children.

Matthew Dunn is an accomplished energy professional who currently works for ExxonMobil at its world headquarters in Houston, Texas, where he supports the largest throughput crude oil pipeline in North America, transporting approximately 1.6 million barrels of crude oil per day to refineries along the Gulf Coast. He holds several distinguished certifications in his field, including Certified Professional Landman (CPL), Senior Right of Way Professional, and Project Management Professional (PMP), reflecting his expertise in land management and project ex*****on. Matthew credits his time as a lifeguard at Lincoln Memorial University with helping him develop the discipline, responsibility, and teamwork skills that continue to guide his success today.
