"The experience went beyond simple "journalistic" coverage - it touched my soul and inspired me in many ways, and there was a palpable feeling of closeness amongst the participants by the closing prayer at the end of the day," Michael said. Dr. Lucinda Mosher and Dr. David Grafton recently facilitated a virtual workshop with the Kaduna Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations, bringing together 25 Muslim and Christian leaders from northern Nigeria to read and reflect on passages from the Bible and the Qur'an together. After gathering in person last year, this year's session moved to Zoom. This workshop is part of a joint leadership certificate program between the Macdonald Center and the Kaduna Centre, fostering understanding and collaboration between faith communities.

"The deepest form of solidarity is not saying you are just like me. It is saying you are not just like me — and your safety still matters to me." That's the message from David Waren, Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, and HIU's ambassador, State Sen. Saud Anwar, in a must-read CT Courant op-ed. They draw on Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks and interfaith scholar Eboo Patel to make the case for dignity across differences.

An attack on any house of worship is an attack on the American promise that people of every faith can live openly and securely. It is an attack on the idea that difference is not a threat to be feared, but a dignity to be honored.

Eid al-Adha is one of the two holiest celebrations in Islam, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice." It honors the story of Prophet Ibrahim, who demonstrated complete devotion to God and was willing to sacrifice his son. In His mercy, God replaced the sacrifice with a ram, a powerful lesson in faith, trust, and submission. Today, Muslims around the world mark this occasion with communal prayers, the ritual of Qurbani (animal sacrifice), and sharing the meat with family, neighbors, and those in need. It's a time of generosity, gratitude, and togetherness. Wishing a blessed and joyful Eid al-Adha to all who observe!
