The Crow Annual Newsletter:
Dear fellow Crows,
This past year has been eventful at the Phi Psi chapter of Alpha Chi Rho. Between initiating new members and electing a new executive board, many changes have been happening within the Crow house at Trinity College to benefit the fraternity and prepare us for the future. Of all the changes that have happened within the past year, here’s a list of a few that are most noticeable.
Last Fall, Alpha Chi Rho contributed to the Trinity and greater Hartford community in various ways. For example, Crow teamed up with Relay for Life and ran the “No Shave November” campaign on the Trinity College campus. This raised money that was donated to the American Cancer Society. In addition, Crow participated in Halloween on Vernon, which provided Hartford children the ability to trick or treat on Vernon Street. Crow brothers acted as ambassadors and lead the kids from house to house on Vernon Street and made sure the event ran smoothly.
The Phi Psi chapter of Alpha Chi Rho is pleased to announce the induction of the fall class of 2014 and the spring class of 2015. These new brethren embody the “ANDRIZESQE” motto and what it means to be a brother of our fraternity, as well as bring great potential to the future of Alpha Chi Rho. All of these new members are in the class of 2017, except for Michael Battista, who is in the class of 2016, and many of these new brothers are now serving on the newly elected executive board.
We are pleased to announce the results of the 2015 executive board election. The results go as follows:
President: Brian Love ‘16
Vice President: Jake Rubin ‘15*
Treasurer: Justin Kim ‘17
Secretary: Benjamin Cerel ‘17
Social Chair: Matt Desalle ‘16
Sergeant at Arms: Christopher Cilliers ‘17
Community Service Chair: Michael Battista ‘16
Brothers of the fraternity convened last December before the holiday break to elect new members, and after deliberation and voting, our new executive board was elected. Previous executive board members as well as graduating seniors have provided the necessary information and guidance for the newly elected officers, and the officers have been proactive in taking new steps for the fraternity.
The new executive board has been proactive in taking steps to better the future of our fraternity. Crow is currently in contact with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in order to find a way to raise funds for MS research. In addition, we are currently involved with a program that plans to feed over 40 children in the local Hartford area this weekend. Crow will also be participating in a “Consent is so Frat” event March 29th. Lastly, we are currently in discussion with our landlord to acquire access to the basement of the Crow house to use for social events.
As our graduating seniors finish their last semester at Trinity College, the Phi Psi chapter is working to continue to pave the path they have left for us and to continue to strengthen the Crow brotherhood. As we spend our last semester with our seniors, we wish them luck in their future endeavors and hope they return to Crow once they have become alumni. We wish everyone a happy, healthy new year, and hope to see everyone at the next Alumni weekend.
Sincerely,
The Brothers of the Phi Psi chapter of Alpha Chi Rho
