Do You Need a Job or Internship?
Come to the SCICU Career Fair and Interview Day in Columbia, SC on January 30th!

Take advantage of an opportunity to network and potentially be interviewed by recruiters from corporations, organizations, state and federal agencies, non-profits, and school districts in one day at one location. The Career Fair will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 10:45 am. The Interview Event will begin at noon and conclude at approximately 5:00 pm.

Students that submit a finalized and critiqued resume to Career Services by Wednesday, October 31st will have their information included in a formal resume booklet that will be sent to recruiters prior to the event. By submitting your resume early you have the opportunity to be contacted before the fair to set up an interview for the day of the event. Take advantage of this incredible marketing tool and GET YOUR FINALIZED/CRITIQUED RESUME TO ME BEFORE THE DEADLINE ABOVE!

All other interviews will be scheduled during the Career Fair on January 30th.

Students interested in attending this event MUST complete the steps below before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25th.

1. Email Career Services for a Registration Packet.

2. Complete and return your portion of the Registration Packet to Career Services.

3. Submit your resume via email to [email protected] by one of the deadlines below. All resumes must be critiqued by Career Services and finalized prior to the submission date.

Deadlines for resumes:
· Students requesting that their resumes be a part of the resume booklet must have a resume to me by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31st

· All other resumes must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25th

State Farm in Florence is looking for a student to work part-time
(15 hrs. a week Monday-Friday). The job opening is in our call center, and the individual would be doing just that – calling. They would call potential customers, see if they would be interested in an insurance quote, and get information from them in order to figure the quote. The pay is $8.00 per hour, plus commission.

MATERIALS MANAGER

Under limited supervision, is responsible for performing a variety of duties relating to the purchasing activities of the department and coordinating procurement functions for goods and services to support the operational needs of the County government in accordance with the established policies and procedures. Responsible for performing duties related to routine and non-routine purchases; maintains and distributes MSDS reports; manages office supply inventory, as well as Central Storage; assist with preparing and awarding contracts; and assists in vehicle/equipment maintenance contracts. Reports to the Finance Director.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supplemented by three to five years of experience as a buyer for a multi-departmental government entity with experience in assisting in preparation of formal procurement documents and materials management in shipping/receiving and inventory control; or an equivalent combinations of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
