BETA ALPHA PSI is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals.

The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development, service, and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

Congratulations to Ms. Julia Bradley who is a recipient of the University of Southern Mississippi's prestigious 2026 Ready for Life Champion Award! 🎉

President Paul established the Ready for Life Champion Awards to recognize and reward individual faculty and schools or programs for integrating career readiness into their courses and/or schools and programs.

Julia Bradley was selected in recognition of her innovative leadership and unwavering commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom. Through her signature course, ACC 311: Introduction to Professional Accountancy, she intentionally integrates career readiness, emotional intelligence, communication skills, and professional development to ensure students are equipped for both the workforce and life. As Faculty Advisor for Beta Alpha Psi and founder of the Golden Accounting Affiliate Program, she has created meaningful opportunities for mentorship, service, and early professional engagement. Her leadership of events such as Meet the Firms has directly connected students with employers, leading to internships and full-time positions while building their confidence and professionalism. Collectively, her efforts have established a comprehensive ecosystem of experiential learning that empowers students to graduate not just career-ready, but truly ready for life.

On April 14th, 2026, Beta Alpha Psi - Zeta Mu hosted our biannual Initation and Awards Ceremony.

Congratulations to all of our new members on being initiated into the chapter, we are looking forward to this upcoming year! We also recognized many outstanding members and candidates who go above and beyond to serve the chapter and the community.

Lastly, we officially transitioned to our new officer board. We know this next year is going to be bright, and we can’t wait to see how the chapter will succeed!

Beta Alpha Psi is proud to recognize two members of our chapter who were recognized at the 2026 Founders' Day Student Awards Ceremony.

Deamy Alvarado received the Judge R.J. Bishop Award, a prestigious award at USM honoring a native Mississippian who demonstrates Grit, determination to succeed, and a strong work ethic. Haiden Lowery received the Best Citizen award, which recognizes leadership, character, and commitment to the University.

Last night, Zeta Mu heard from EisnerAmper! Thank you guys for sharing your insight on valuation and converting internships to offers. We appreciate those that take their time to speak to us and share career advice.

Following our meeting, we hosted our second service night. It’s always a good opportunity for us to be able to host these service nights for our members!

Beta Alpha Psi wants to give a huge shoutout to all of our members and candidates who have been working hard at Edwards Street this semester!

Students have the opportunity to volunteer with Edwards Street in the food pantry and thrift shop. We are grateful for them allowing our members to volunteer and make an impact for the Hattiesburg community! Tag your friends that you see:)

BMSS joined Beta Alpha Psi this Tuesday evening to talk about their unique programs and what recruiters are looking for in an internship candidate! We always look forward to the energy (and cookies) Bailey brings us each spring. We are so grateful that she took time out of her busy schedule to come speak with us and share helpful insight as we get closer to recruiting season.

This Tuesday Beta Alpha Psi was joined by Forvis Mazars! They shared a very helpful presentation about the role that AI plays in current and future business practices. As AI continues to develop and introduce new features, it was refreshing to see the ways it can benefit a business without replacing jobs.

Thank you, Forvis Mazars, for providing food and taking time out of your busy schedules to come speak with us.

Following our meeting, we hosted a service night to give members the opportunity to gain a service hour while on campus.
