Founded at Southern Miss in 1969, Theta Gamma was chartered exactly 100 years after Sigma Nu’s birth. At Virginia Military Institute, in 1869, a small group of incoming freshmen decided that they shouldn’t have to perform demeaning acts to gain acceptance in an oppressive student organization.Thus, Sigma Nu was created in opposition to hazing and emphasized moral leadership. The belief that men sh

ould be treated as men, and the idea that development can take place outside of the classroom, carry on today through Theta Gamma Chapter. You can see this in our Candidate Program; which provides you, not with the burden of being a subservient “pledge”, but with the needed tools to be an effective Active member of Sigma Nu.

Congratulations to April’s Brother of the Month, Charlie Murphree ! Charlie is a Sophomore Speech Pathology major from Senatobia, MS. Charlie currently serves as our Philanthropy chair and this past month he organized both Sigma Nu Splashdown and Signa Nu Kickin’ It. These events helped raise over $9000 for our Philanthropy, Extra Table. We are incredibly proud of Charlie and all his hard work this semester ! Congratulations Charlie !

Last week we hosted our annual Charity Soccer Tournament, Kickin It’, and it was a huge success. Thank you to all of our sponsors who helped us raise over $9,000 and help Extra Table Food Bank provide over 36,000 meals to those in need across the entire state. We couldn’t be more proud of our guys for all the hard work that went into putting this together. Big shoutout goes to Charlie Murphree our Philanthropy Chair for organizing all this. Thanks to all the teams who played and congrats to our two champions and .sae.
