Our Year 2 MOT students welcomed their Year 1 buddies with introductions, encouragement, and a few care packages to help kick off the new academic year.
The OT Buddy System connects our new students with someone who's already been in their shoes, giving them a familiar face, a source of encouragement, and a connection from the very beginning.

🏡✨ Move That Bus... OT Style! ✨🏡

Our Occupational Therapy students recently stepped into the role of home-modification specialists for a hands-on, home-renovation show-inspired learning experience!

Working within a realistic budget, student teams completed a mock home renovation project designed to promote client independence, safety, and participation in daily activities. Using occupational therapy principles, they assessed barriers in the home environment and developed creative adaptations and reorganizations tailored to their client's needs.

Students showcased their renovation plans through professional PowerPoint mood boards, detailed budget proposals, and evidence-based recommendations. The project culminated in an exciting home renovation show-style final reveal, where teams presented their transformed spaces and demonstrated how thoughtful environmental modifications can empower clients to live more safely and independently.

This activity highlighted the important role occupational therapists play in helping individuals thrive in their own homes through environmental adaptation, problem-solving, and client-centered intervention
