Today, we are proud to spotlight Dr. Rosemary Woullard, a dedicated educator, mentor, and educational leader whose career reflects a lifelong commitment to preparing and supporting teachers.
With more than 35 years of experience in education, Dr. Woullard has taught students from kindergarten through college and has served as a teacher, professor, educational coach, consultant, and supervisor of teachers and administrators. Dr. Woullard brings a unique global perspective to her work as an educator. Fluent in several languages, she has taught foreign language and English as a Second Language and has worked with students and educators from diverse cultural backgrounds.
At William Carey University, Dr. Woullard has served as an Assistant Professor and Instructor in Curriculum and Instruction, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Secondary Methods and Curriculum Planning while supervising teacher candidates in the Masters in the Art of Teaching (Alternate Route)Program.
Her distinguished career also includes leadership in teacher education at Pearl River Community College, where she developed curriculum, mentored future educators, coordinated partnerships with local schools, and designed professional learning opportunities for educators in the United States and England.
Dr. Woullard’s accomplishments include four National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowships, Outstanding Teacher of the Fifth Congressional District, and Humanities Teacher of the Year from the Mississippi Humanities Council, among numerous other honors.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Woullard treasures her family. She is married to Joe Woullard and enjoys spending time with her two sons, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. Dr. Woullard’s career exemplifies the heart of educator preparation: teaching, mentoring, leading, and inspiring the next generation of educators.
