Parnassus has won multiple national awards from prestigious literary magazine competitions, and your work could be the piece that helps us win even more!

We need writing (Fiction, Poetry, Creative Nonfiction) and visual arts (Art, Painting, Photography, more!). Our submission process can be found here:

It's your turn! You can join the artistic and literary legends of the past and cement your creations in print with the 2026 issue of Parnassus! We are once again asking for the best fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, artwork, photography and more that you've crafted, honed, sharpened, and sparkled. Parnassus is a multi-award winning, nationally recognized publication, and getting your work in our pages is a massive boost to any resume or portfolio.

For the second year in a row and for the sixth time total, Parnassus has been awarded the prestigious Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker award for our 2025 issue, once again marking our program as one of the best collegiate literary arts magazines in the country. Massive congratulations to everyone involved with this issue and beyond - we could not be more proud of the work you do to help make our magazine stand out amongst a sea of other amazing publications each year.

Parnassus faculty advisor Patrick Lochelt has a fantastic Creative Writing course running this fall (ENG-111-T2) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3:15. It's officially here! The 2025 Parnassus is on the stand and ready for your viewing. We apologize for the delay - as soon as they were delivered, the college was redoing their floors, so we had to wait a bit, but your patience will be rewarded. This is a GREAT issue, and we can't wait for you to see it.

Our stand is located on the Haverhill campus, in the C/Spurk building, right near the center staircase on the first floor.

If you can't make it on campus soon, reach out to advisor Patrick Lochelt ([email protected]), and we can arrange mailing one to you once the fall semester begins.

Hello everyone! We hope your summer is starting off well.

We have great news - the 2025 issue of Parnassus (our 60th anniversary issue!) is on the way! The digital version is all set and will be on our website very soon, and we have just gone to physical press, hopefully to have hard copies in hand before the end of the month.

Major congrats to everyone involved in yet another amazing issue of Parnassus - we can't wait for you all to see it, read it, hold it, inhale it, or any other ways you can think to experience another amazing selection of creativity from the NECC community. More news soon!
