We are thrilled to share that Isaac Hargett, our American Democracy Project Student Coordinator, has been selected as a 2026-2027 Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact-- a national coalition of colleges and universities working to advance the public purposes of higher education.

Isaac is central to our mission of equipping students to become informed, active citizens. Through his passion for constructive dialogue and civic participation, he has elevated our programs and inspired his peers across campus. We are immensely grateful for his hard work and proud to see his dedication recognized on a national level!

Congratulations to Honors College student Alyssa Marley on being selected to work with the United Way of Ellis County this semester! We love seeing our students apply their talents, leadership, and passion to strengthen the communities they serve. 💙❤️💛

We’re excited to welcome four FHSU Leadership 310 students who will be working alongside United Way of Ellis County on our ALICE Data Walk initiative this semester!

Together, they’ll help us take local ALICE data beyond the numbers, creating opportunities for our community to better understand what working households are experiencing and helping us gather community perspectives along the way.

Because data tells us what’s happening. Stories help us understand why it matters. And together, we can strengthen the network that responds.
