Nevada State University, a four-year public institution, is a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education. Nevada State places a special emphasis on the advancement of a diverse and largely under-served student population. Located on a developing 500-acre campus in the foothills of Henderson, Nevada, the institution was established in 2002 as a new tier in the state system between the research

universities and the two-year colleges. In this role, the university emphasizes high-quality instruction, exemplary service, engaging learning experiences, and innovation as a means to more efficient, effective outcomes in all corners of the campus.

It's official! Nevada State University's 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, A Framework for Action, was unanimously approved by the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents today with a 13-0-0 vote.

This plan reflects input from faculty, staff, students, and the community, and is guided by three goals: fostering student support and success, advancing access and opportunity, and strengthening operational effectiveness and maturity.

Last week, Nevada State University's School of Nursing held its Pinning Ceremony, a meaningful tradition that marks the transition from nursing student to nursing professional. Family, friends, and mentors filled the room to celebrate our newest Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates as they were pinned and welcomed into the profession.

Congratulations to our Class of 2026 nursing graduates! We are so proud of everything you've accomplished, and we can't wait to see the impact you'll make in healthcare across Nevada and beyond.

Big day in the Scorpion Den! We officially cut the ribbon on "A Desert Dreamscape," a brand new mural inside the Scorpion Den painted by local artist Eric Vozzola. NSSA (Nevada State Student Alliance) celebrated the moment with an Open House full of swag, snacks, and pressed flower frame crafting to welcome students back for the semester. Here's to a great year ahead, Scorpions. 💛🖤
