Last evening, New England College hosted its annual Student Leadership Awards night recognizing students for their academic success and commitment to civic engagement. I’m proud to announce that the Criminal Justice Club received two awards in the categories of Event of the year and also Organization of the year. This club has had the great fortune of having motivated and determined members who have made both of these awards possible. Our commitment to the school and to our surrounding community is one of great respect and pride that continues to grow strong.

On Sunday, the Criminal Justice Club hosted its first annual Stuff-A-Cruiser toy drive. We would like to thank the Merrimack County Sheriffs Department and The Henniker Police Department for coming out to showcase their vehicles and allowing us to use them for the event. We would also like to thank everyone who donated toys and made the event so successful!

If you are on the Manchester campus and would like to contribute, please drop your gift off to Concord Hall to Anna Li Preble no later than noon on Friday, December 6th so we can bring the items to Henniker for the 8th.

If you are not able to stop by the Henniker campus on Sunday, December 8th but want to contribute, you can drop your donation off to Simon 305 or Simon 317 (Student Engagement) by the end of the day on December 6th.

The New England College Criminal Justice Club is proud to host the first annual Stuff a Cruiser Toy Drive! Please stop by the Simon Center Parking lot at 98 Bridge Street, Henniker NH 03242 on Sunday, December 8th from 8:00am-11:00am to donate new, unwrapped toys for children in the area.

Last week, 14 members of the Criminal Justice Club were invited back to attend the New England Conference on Crime and Delinquency for the second year in a row. New England College is the only institution invited to the NECCD conference because of our incredible reputation for engaged learning. While at the conference, we also attended a tour of the investigations division of the Rhode Island Department of Corrections as well as a tour of the Warwick police department. The Criminal Justice Club is thankful for all the generosity of the NECCD and the RIDOC, as well as the Warwick police department. The conference and tours allowed the students to network and learn information and skills that no other student has the opportunity to do.
