2010 SURF Fellow Jenny Frielle has been named a finalist for the 2012 American Physiological Society David Bruce Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research. Jenny will present her poster entitled "Arcuate Injection of the Anti-Insulin Affibody Prevents Sympathetic Responses to Insulin" at the 2012 Experimental Biology Meeting in San Diego. This past year, she was supported by an APS Summer Undergraduate Fellowship.

Penn State Hershey SURF awarded a 2-year grant from the American Heart Association. Congratulations to all - we successfully competed and renewed the grant from the American Heart Association.

Previous 2010 SURF fellow Jenny Frielle submitted a co-authored abstract to the 2012 Experimental Biology Meeting in San Diego entitled "Arcuate Nucleus Injection of Anti-Insulin Affibody Prevents Sympathetic Response to Circulating Insulin". Jenny will present her research in April 2012. Coauthors include Brittany Luckett, Lawrence Wolfgang, and Sean D. Stocker.
