Our Drawing I students visited the Taft Museum recently for a private tour of the Rembrandt Print Exhibition. The students were able to see Rembrandt’s artwork up close and learn about his process and biography.

Big thanks to the Taft Museum for hosting us and our docent, Dale, who shared some incredible insights into the work.

Congratulations to our Assistant Professor of Spatial Art, Gary Sczerbaniewicz for the opening of his exhibition, “Cloud of Unknowing” at the Sculpture Center in Cleveland!

Repost from Gary Sczerbaniewicz

Here are a few images from my recent solo show ‘Cloud Of Unknowing’ which opened last weekend The Sculpture Center in Cleveland!
It was exciting to show new work to a new art audience & I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Cleveland! I met some very nice folks at the opening and had some fun conversations and thoughts about the work.
Thanks to all who came to the opening & congrats to fellow exhibiting artist Linglin Ku! The shows run thru June 6th. More images to follow soon.

Thank you to Grace Chin for this amazing exhibition opportunity and the wonderful staff at TSC for being such accommodating hosts! Thanks also to Chris Siano at The Foundry Group, Kurt Treeby, Michele Minka, for their exhibition assistance & my colleague Ben Huber for holding down the fort in my absence last week!
It definitely takes a village!

✨Get excited! 🎥 You are invited to screen our BFA senior animation films on Thursday, April 16th beginning at 6pm in Fine Arts Center room 416 as part of the opening of our BFA Senior exhibition!

Our BFA animation seniors will have their animations playing in the galleries, but this screening will provide a quiet and dark space to view and hear their capstone animations.

Hello SOTA students! In collaboration with TANK (Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky), SOTA has been selected to create a student-led illuminated installation for BLINK 2026! This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the nation’s largest light-based art event. To learn more about BLINK, go to https://www.blinkcincinnati.com/. We’re looking to assemble a multidisciplinary team of students who can start right away, work together throughout the summer, and assemble the installation in the fall (BLINK 2026 is scheduled for 10/8-10/11). This project will be guided by a faculty team representing design, animation, sculpture, art education, music, and theatre & dance. If you’re interested in learning more, please attend an information session on Wednesday, 4/15 at 6pm in FA 416.

Please reach out to Candice van Loveren Geis at [email protected], 859-572-1521, or FA 330 with questions.
